Olympic Skateboarder Nyjah Huston Reveals Bronze Medal’s Shocking Damage Just Days After Win

Nyjah Huston is learning an important lesson about precious medals. The Olympic skateboarder earned bronze at the Paris Games and shared how the prize has seemingly started deteriorating just days after his win. Nyjah shared an up-close look at the tarnished medal in an Instagram story on Aug. 8, pointing out small chips in the surface. “Alright, so these Olympic medals look great when they are brand new, but after letting it sit on my skin with some sweat for a little bit and then letting my friends wear it over the weekend, they are apparently not as high quality as you would think,” he explained. The athlete later followed up with a post acknowledging that he’s learned the medals are best kept in a case and “not in the send,” an apparent reference to a house party he’d had earlier in the week.
