Tupac Shakur Murder: Duane ‘Keffe D’ Davis Arrested 27 Years After Rapper’s Fatal Shooting

A suspect has been arrested in the 1996 murder of Tupac Shakur. Nearly three decades after the iconic rapper’s passing, Las Vegas police announced on Friday they had taken Duane Keith “Keffe D” Davis into custody. A Nevada grand jury also indicted the 60-year-old on one count of open murder with use of a deadly weapon with a gang. Davis is one of the last surviving witnesses in the case and police held a press conference on Sept. 29 to detail the long-awaited breakthrough. “It has taken countless hours, really, decades of work by the men and women of our homicide section to get to where we are today,” Sheriff Kevin McMahill said. Authorities added that Davis is expected to appear in court within the next few days for a hearing to determine his custody status and to set a trial date.
