Tony Bennett’s Wife Susan Reveals The Final Song He Sang To Her Before His Death

Tony Bennett’s wife has spoken out in her first interview since his passing, reflecting his life and legacy on what would have been his 97th birthday. In a new interview with Today’s Hoda Kotb, Susan Benedetto and Tony’s eldest son Danny, talked about their final moments with the legendary singer, who passed away on July 21. “That he loved me,” she shared. “Yeah. He would wake up every day and still say that. He woke up happy every day,” she revealed. Susan and Tony were together for more than 20 years before tying the knot in 2007, and she took his legal last name, Benedetto, rather than his stage name. The couple had an over 40 year age gap between them, but Susan opened up about it and revealed why their relationship worked so well for so many years. “He never saw generation gaps or anything and, so, privately we didn’t either. We just absolutely loved each other and he was my life,” she said. Susan also revealed the final song he sang to her just days before his death.
