Gabrielle Union Explains How ‘The Inspection’ Role Hits Close To Home With Stepdaughter Zaya Wade
Gabrielle Union and Jeremy Pope are already getting Oscar buzz for their new film, “The Inspection.” The movie is about a gay U.S. Marine who faces homophobia both at bootcamp and at home from his mother. The role hits close to home for the 50-year-old actress, whose stepdaughter with husband Dwyane Wade, Zaya, identifies as part of the LGBTQIA+ community. “We live this story every day. We are fighting for people to see each other and to love each other and to accept each other and to respect each other,” she told Access Hollywood. The proud mom also talked about her four-year-old daughter Kaavia’s love for dressing up. “The Inspection” hit theaters Nov. 18.
