Justin Baldoni’s Wife Emily Breaks Silence Amid Blake Lively Legal Battle As His Mom Shows Support
Justin Baldoni’s wife, Emily, and mother, Sharon, are breaking their silence amid the actor’s legal battle with his “It Ends with Us” costar Blake Lively. Both women took to Instagram on Friday, Jan. 24 to share birthday wishes to the “Jane the Virgin” star in separate posts. “Happy birthday my love. Celebrating the man, husband, and father that you are. I’d choose you again and again,” Emily captioned her family photo which featured the couple kissing alongside their children, Maiya, 9, and Maxwell, 7. Meanwhile, Sharon uploaded three images of the mother-son duo sitting on a bench accompanied by a lengthy caption in which she appeared to send a pointed message about his legal drama as she noted “justice and truth will shine.” “Happy Birthday Justin ~ remembering a wonderful moment after the final ending of “Jane The Virgin”- a moment where joy and love permeated the set, where friendships and family were born and kindness and integrity permeated the hearts of all the actors and crew, where sadness only entered because it was the final scene of a wonderful journey~ and the beginning of the rest of our lives. A happy loving and generous memory with hearts exploding with possibilities,” she began, adding, “Life has its moments and also its surprises- as you keep your integrity through it all Justice and truth will shine today and into eternity. I love you more than you will ever know! Happy Birthday my beautiful boy! May God continue to bless you in truth.” Lively sued Baldoni, his studio, Wayfarer Studios, and PR representatives in late December after the New York Times published her legal complaint against him which accused the director of sexual harassment and creating a hostile work environment on set of “It Ends with Us.” Baldoni, who denies the allegations, responded by suing the New York Times for libel and, a few weeks later, sued Lively, her husband, Ryan Reynolds, and their publicist for defamation. The lawsuit was also filed on behalf of Wayfarer Studios and its CEO. Lively’s legal team released a statement in response which said in part, “The strategy of attacking the woman is desperate, it does not refute the evidence in Ms. Lively’s complaint, and it will fail.” The Times defends its reporting, claiming that their story was “meticulously and responsibly reported.”
