‘All That’ Star Kel Mitchell Recalls ‘Big Argument’ With Dan Schneider, Addresses ‘Quiet on Set’ Documentary
Nickelodeon star Kel Mitchell is reflecting on his career. In an interview with Keke Palmer for her “Baby, This Is Keke Palmer” podcast, the actor spoke about his time on Nickelodeon where he starred in sitcoms like “All That” and “Kenan & Kel.” At one point in the duo’s conversation, Kel revealed that there was a shift in direction for “All That” toward the end of the show’s run, which also involved more of head writer, Dan Schneider. However, the comedian said he didn’t agree with the writing changes. “So [Dan’s] writing, and me and him kind of like bump heads a little bit because of the direction of how the characters were going.” The 45-year-old then recalled a “big argument” he had with the showrunner. “[Dan] was like, ‘Let’s go over here to this room right here in this closet’ – he closed the door and he just took off. Just yelling this all wild stuff, you know,” Kel shared. The comedian further revealed that the incident led him to walk off set. Plus, Kel and Keke also addressed “Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV” documentary, as well as more of their experiences with the network.
