Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Explains Why He’s ‘A Hard Person To Love’ In Resurfaced 2006 Interview

Sean “Diddy” Combs explained to Access Hollywood in this resurfaced interview from 2006 why he considered himself a “hard person to love” because of his dedication to his career. “I’m very much like a workaholic, you know, I’m in love with what I do. So when I’m in a relationship, I kind of cheat when I’m doing my work because that’s all I’m really focused on and I’m giving my love to that. And it’s hard to love somebody when they don’t have your undivided attention all the time and not making the right amount of time for you and the relationship. And also times just being selfish. So I’ve learned about that and that’s something that I’ve corrected in me,” he said at the time. The hip-hop mogul went on to share why he didn’t feel ready to marry then-girlfriend Kim Porter, who died 12 years later in 2018 and was the mother to three of his children and a son whom he later adopted. “It has nothing to do with my relationship, it’s a personal thing. … I don’t want to just do it, like you see every celebrity out there do it every week – one week they’re getting married, the next week they’re getting divorced and then they’re seeing somebody two days later. I don’t really rock like that.” As of September 2024, Diddy is facing felony charges of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and transportation to engage in prostitution. He pleaded not guilty at his arraignment and was denied bail.
