Olympic Gymnast Jade Carey Reveals Why She Fell On Floor Exercise At 2024 Paris Games

Olympic gold medalist Jade Carey is revealing what happened during her floor routine at the Women’s Gymnastics Qualifier at the 2024 Paris Games. The Team USA gymnast, who is currently competing in her second Olympics Games, suffered a fall during her floor routine on July 28. The slip up shocked fans in the stadium and even NBC’s commentators as she is the reigning Olympic gold medalist on that apparatus. Now, Jade is opening up about what caused her to fall during the meet telling Olympics.com she’s been feeling under the weather. “I just have not been feeling well the past few days and haven’t been able to eat or anything,” she said. “I had, like, no energy today and didn’t really have a sense of what was going on in my head, ” she said. “So, I just kind of wanted people to know that so, they know that there’s actually something wrong.” Jade scored a 10.633 on floor exercise and did not qualify for the finals in that event but she is moving onto the vault finals and will also compete in the team finals alongside Simone Biles, Suni Lee, Jordan Chiles and Hezly Rivera. The U.S. Women’s Gymnastics team will compete again on July 30. You can watch them compete at the 2024 Paris Olympics on NBC and Peacock.
