Nicole Kidman Talks Singing In New Film ‘Spellbound’: ‘I Was So Honored When They Asked Me’
Nicole Kidman is showing off her acting and her voice in the new animated musical adventure “Spellbound”! At the film’s New York City premiere, she spoke to Access Hollywood about reteaming with Javier Bardem on the movie, as well as singing – which she’s done only a few times onscreen since “Moulin Rouge” back in 2001. “I was so honored when they asked me. Obviously [co-star] Rachel [Zegler] has the most divine voice, so I was just like, ‘Oh no,'” she joked. “But I loved what [director] Vicky [Jenson] had done with it, and she was so nurturing and kind and sort of encouraging as we went along, and obviously with the composer being Alan [Menken], I was just like, ‘I’m in. Just get me there, please.'” Access Hollywood also spoke to Rachel, who dished on being in her princess era both with this film and next year’s “Snow White.” “Spellbound” hits Netflix on Nov. 22.
