John Boyega Says Jamie Foxx Predicted They Would Work Together Prior To Filming ‘They Cloned Tyrone’

John Boyega’s dream came true on the set of “They Cloned Tyrone.” The “Star Wars” alum worked with Jamie Foxx on the project, an actor he had admired for a long time, and turns out the film was a full-circle moment for John. “I met Jamie for the first time at D23 and Jamie told me one day we’re going to work [together],” he told Access Hollywood. “And I was like, that’s what all the Hollywood people say and then they never call your phone again. But he stayed in contact and then we ended up in the same movie which was kind of a weird full circle moment,” he added. “They Cloned Tyrone” is a science fiction comedy mystery that follows an unlikely trio uncovering a government cloning conspiracy and John couldn’t help but gush over the unique concept. “I just think it’s fresh. It comes from a very unique and interesting perspective. We have our first-time director here, Juel Taylor, in his debut, and I think that’s something I think everyone should get behind,” John said. As for how Juel would describe his film “as a weird time.” “They Cloned Tyrone” starts streaming on Netflix July 21.
