Joey King Reacts To Fooling Everyone With Her Bob Hairstyle In Cannes: ‘I Was Getting Mad’
Joey King is officially in “The Minions” squad! Speaking with Access Hollywood at the premiere of “Despicable Me 4” on June 9 in New York City, the actress joked that she felt like a “scary pediatrician” in her red carpet fit and explained how filming for voiceover movies differs from a regular feature. “The thing about voiceover is that you don’t get to work with any of these people – like, today is the first time I’m seeing [the cast] since I started filming and I haven’t even said hello yet because I’m a little nervous. But, it’s really cool to be in the vicinity of working with them,” Joey began, before reminiscing on working with Steve Carell for “Crazy, Stupid, Love” in 2011. “I worked with Steve Carell when I was like 11 years old, and he was amazing.” The 24-year-old also dished to Access about her iconic bob look at this year’s Cannes Film Festival and how she fooled even her close friends with the hairstyle. “I didn’t think that anyone in my personal life would actually have thought I cut my hair. So, I was getting all these text messages from friends, and all these people, and then I was also getting a little bit mad because some of my friends were like, ‘Oh my God, it’s so cute,’” “The Act” star began before continuing, “But I was getting mad at my friends who were like, ‘It’s so cute,’ because I’m like, ‘You’re fake, you’re fake – you’re so fake.’ It’s so cute when it’s like on a carpet straight like that. But my hair does not look like that when it dries out of the shower, so I’d have to do it like that every day.” “Despicable Me 4” hits theaters July 3.
