Garth Brooks Returns To Stage After Denying Sexual Assault Allegations From Former Employee
Garth Brooks has returned to the stage. The country music legend resumed his Las Vegas residency just hours after bombshell sexual assault allegations from a former employee went public. According to NBC News, a hair stylist and makeup artist who previously worked for Brooks and his wife, Trisha Yearwood, filed a lawsuit on Oct. 3 accusing him of unwanted sexual conduct including rape, groping, lewd text messages and exposing himself on multiple occasions. Brooks denied the allegations in a lengthy statement and has claimed that the woman, identified as “Jane Roe,” is allegedly seeking “hush money.” The artist’s statement confirmed that he had previously filed an anonymous complaint against Roe in September to “speak out against” alleged “extortion and defamation of character.” Brooks was scheduled to perform at Caesars Palace the same day the reported lawsuit was filed, and he acknowledged his intent to “play music tonight” and “continue our good deeds going forward.” After wrapping the Caesars Palace show, Brooks posted an Instagram photo from the venue and shared gratitude for the crowd’s support. “If there was ever a night that I really needed this, TONIGHT was that night! Thank you for my life!!!!! love, g,” he wrote in his caption.
