Derek Hough Dedicates Emmy Win To Wife Hayley Erbert Amid Her Recovery From Skull Surgery
Derek Hough is feeling extra grateful for his family and career. On Jan. 6, the “Dancing with the Stars” judge won the Creative Arts Emmy award for Outstanding Choreography for Variety or Reality Programming for his role on ABC’s dancing reality show and he got emotional while dedicating the award to his wife, Hayley Erbert, who is recovering from recent brain surgery. “Exactly a month ago, I was in the hospital. This was a different moment. A month ago was a life-changing moment that reminded me to really cherish and savor every moment. I want to dedicate this to my beautiful wife. I just flew in from Washington, D.C., last night. Your strength and your courage this whole month has been unbelievable. You inspired me every day,” he reportedly said through tears. Derek’s win comes a few weeks after Hayley underwent an emergency craniectomy. Over the weeks, he has kept fans updated on Hayley’s recovery journey, confirming that a follow-up procedure to mend her skull was successful.
