Just one day after the Oscar winner shared her dismay over a scripted joke Bella recited onstage at the Critics Choice Awards, the pair were seen sharing a warm embrace during the 2023 Emmys. Writer Evan Ross Katz captured the shot on Instagram and noted how the actors’ friendly moment indicated no hard feelings between them. Bella had previously made headlines following their Critics Choice appearance, in which they listed Ariana, Ryan Gosling and Jack Black as “actors who also think they are singers.” Ariana appeared confused over the subtle dig and later confirmed on her Instagram story that she “didn’t find it funny.” The “West Side Story” star was up for Best Song honors at the show, which Gosling won for “I’m Just Ken” from “Barbie.” Though Ariana has a decorated musical background from feature films to Broadway, many fans pointed out that Bella was simply reading from a teleprompter and likely had no input on the joke – and it appears Ariana isn’t holding any grudges!
