Lady Gaga may be ruling the pop charts, but the original queen of pop, Madonna, is gearing up for her own return.
Madonna’s manager, Guy Oseary, confirmed via Twitter earlier this week that the singer is at work on new music.
“Madonna goes into the recording studio next month to begin work on new album,” he Tweeted.
Beyond the album, Oseary said the superstar was taking things one step at a time.
“First comes the album and next comes the…” he trailed off, leading some fans to speculate Madge could be gearing up to hit the road for a new tour in support of the release.
Madonna has worked with a host of producers over the years to shape her sound, but Oseary didn’t have details about who she’d be teaming up with.
“She has a good idea on which producers she will be working with,” he wrote.
Madonna’s last original album, “Hard Candy,” was released in April 2008. She released “Celebration,” a collection of her greatest hits, in 2009.
