Lady Gaga Reveals Why She Changed Her Singing Voice For ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’

Lady Gaga’s singing voice may sound a little different in her upcoming film “Joker: Folie à Deux” and she’s explaining why.

Gaga, who stars as Harley Quinn alongside Joaquin Phoenix, who plays Arthur Feck in the highly anticipated “Joker” sequel, became so focused on her character that she separated her own singing voice.

“I had to create something completely new and stay away from things that feel really natural to me and only use those things when it was right for moments of fantasy for Arthur, when he was dreaming,” Gaga told Access Hollywood’s Scott Evans.

Adding, “The other moments it was more, how do I create something that’s coming from this very broken person and also she’s not a singer.”

The 38-year-old who is engaged to her boyfriend Michael Polansky also opened up about this chapter of her life and how her relationship and is positively affecting her creative process.

“I think that I’m in a completely creative place and I also feel really happy in my relationship and feel really healthy and that helps me to create in a really free way because I’m not distracted by other things, I’m just thinking about what I want to say.”

Adding, “I’ve built like a two-decade long relationship with my fans now and I’m so grateful to them for coming with me no matter where my creativity takes me and excited for them to hear where I am sonically.” Joker: Folie à Deux” is out in theaters on Oct 4th.

She also retold the story of how her mom met her fiancé first and knew that he would be her husband.

“I’m really grateful for my mom’s advice. You don’t always take your mom’s advice but, mom did good.”
