Adam Sandler looks very comfortable playing a Dad in his new remote control comedy ?Click.?
In real life, Adam told Access? Tony Potts that he?sgot the role of Dad down…sort of.
That is honesty from the father of a newborn daughter — Sadie Sandler ? a little girl who changed the goofball comedy guy into a responsible man — and even more dutiful husband — than he was before.
?Around the house, how are you? You changing diapers? Doing that 3 a.m. kind of thing?? Tony asked.
?I get up with the wife while she’s doing the stuff,? Adam said. ?Try to help her. If she asks me to go get that ointment, I run out and get it, but that’s about it man. ?
OK, so Adam?s a little more at home making movies than mixing formula, but don?t think for a minute that the Sandman?s not crazy for his little girl.
Even if is wasn?t love at first sight.
?You know what was funny? When my kid was born, I was so nervous, I didn’t know what I felt,? Adam explained. ?Five minutes later, maybe 10 minutes later, it was me and the kid and a nurse. We walked down alone to just check the vital signs and all that stuff, and I had a chemical reaction in my body, where I loved the kid so much, and I was so nervous for her, and that’s when I lost my mind for the kid.?
?So, it took 10 minutes to become a good dad,? Adam laughed. ?For the first 10 minutes, I was just lost.?
Adam is a little surprised by the amount his new sweetheart Sadie can?wolf down.
?I’m in there, hanging in there with my wife, we push the kid around in the park, and I watch the kid feed off them bosoms,? Adam told Tony with a big smile.
?That’s something else,? Tony laughed. ?Aren’t you glad you’re not a woman when that happens? It?s like a tiger going crazy.?
?Oh my god, the kid doesn’t stop eating,” Adam exclaimed. “And sucking away. And those used to be pops?. Not anymore.
?Off limits for a while,? Tony chuckled.
?Well, one of them, I tried it out. It was all right,? Adam teased.
