YouTube Star Ms. Rachel Addresses Backlash After Wishing Fans A ‘Happy Pride’
Kids creator Ms. Rachel is standing firm in her support of Pride Month amid some criticism. On June 2, the pre-school teacher turned YouTube star shared a 25 second video on social media to celebrate the first day of Pride Month, where she spread love to the LGBTQ+ community. “Happy Pride to all of our wonderful families and friends,” she said. “This month and every month I celebrate you. I’m so glad you’re here. I’m so glad you’re exactly who you are.” In the video, Ms. Rachel, whose real name is Rachel Griffin Accurso, also spoke directly to anyone who might not agree with her viewpoint adding, “To those who are going to comment they can’t watch the show anymore because of this support, no worries and much love your way. God bless. I am not chasing fame or views. I’m standing strong in love.” While many fans applauded her for spreading a message of inclusivity others blasted her message and said they no longer support her. After the getting mixed comments online, Ms. Rachel seemingly responded to the backlash, sharing another video on her social media accounts on June 3 where she continued to spread love and explained her beliefs.
