Why It’s Important to Talk To Young Girls About Periods, Sex and More
Access Hollywood’s Kit Hoover spoke to Dr. Melisa Holmes, co-founder of Girlology and paid spokesperson for Tampax about the importance of having open conversations with young girls about women’s health. “I’ve seen way too many adult women who just don’t understand their bodies or how they work, but when young people get this information earlier, I’ve also seen first-hand how better they are prepared to advocate for their health because they’re not embarrassed to talk about it and they have a better understanding about what’s normal and that makes them less likely to dismiss or ignore symptoms that may signal something more serious.”
