Tim Walz’s Son Breaks Down In Tears During Dad’s DNC Speech In Sweet Moment

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz’s 17-year-old son, Gus, stole the show at the Democratic National Convention on Aug. 21 as he became overcome with emotion watching his dad formally accept the vice-presidential nomination. During the governor’s speech, he gave a sweet shoutout to his family after telling the audience how he and his wife, Gwen, were able to have their two children, Hope and Gus, thanks to fertility treatments. Speaking directly to his family from onstage, the 60-year-old said, “Hope, Gus, and Gwen – you are my entire world, and I love you.” Upon hearing his father’s words, Gus, who has who has a non-verbal learning disorder, ADHD, and an anxiety disorder, became moved, getting up from his seat to give a standing ovation and appearing to mouth, “That’s my dad!”
