A green goblin appeared at the 2024 Primetime Emmy Awards, but who was behind the disguise? “RuPaul’s Drag Race” season 15 star Princess Poppy sported the glowing green look. The drag queen told Entertainment Weekly that she got her outfit inspo from pop culture, while also explaining her feelings behind it. “I wanted to do the exact opposite of what is expected of you when you go to an event like this. I wanted to take decorum and turn it on its head. Mainly I wanted to be a troll-slash-hag. I wanted to be so shocking that you just have to turn and look at me — in the worst way possible,” she said. Princess Poppy seemed to bring good luck to “RuPaul’s Drag Race” as they won for outstanding reality competition program. Over the years, the reality series has earned a total of 63 Emmy nominations since it launched in 2009. Last night marked the show’s fifth win in that category and eighth consecutive win for RuPaul as host of the show. RuPaul is the most awarded host in Emmys history.
