‘The Bachelor’ Joey Graziadei Reveals Gilbert Syndrome Causes Him To Have ‘Yellow Eyes’
Joey Graziadei is opening up about a health condition that he suffers from after fans noticed that his eyes appear yellow. “The Bachelor” took to his Instagram on Feb. 29 to candidly reveal the non-life-threatening condition he personally has dealt with since high school. “I wanted to jump on here really quick and talk about something that I’m seeing a lot of comments about, which is Joey’s yellow eyes…They found out that there was nothing necessarily wrong, like hepatitis, but they diagnosed me with something called Gilbert syndrome,” he shared in the video. According to the Mayo Clinic, Gilbert Syndrome is a common and benign liver condition that affects the way the body processes bilirubin, which is a yellow substance that’s created during the body’s normal breakdown of old red blood cells. Joey concluded by urging Bachelor nation not to worry while sharing his current health status. “I am told that I am healthy. It’s just something that does affect the whites of my eyes, giving them that jaundiced appearance,” he said.
