Taylor Swift Thanks Barstool Sports’ Dave Portnoy For ‘Having My Back When A lot of People Didn’t’

Taylor Swift is thanking Dave Portnoy for having her back. After the Barstool Sports founder attended the Oct. 19 Eras Tour concert in Miami, Florida, he revealed to his social media followers the next day that he received a personal, handwritten note from the pop star – which was delivered to him by her brother, Austin Swift. “Dave, I’m so happy to have you at the show tonight! I wanted to say thank you for always being so supportive, so loyal, and for having my back when a lot of people didn’t. I hope you have a blast tonight! Love, Taylor,” the letter, which the 47-year-old read aloud, said. The social media personality, who was sitting in the VIP tent next to Billy Joel at the show, also shared that he hugged the global superstar’s mother, Andrea, and met her publicist, Tree Paine. Dave’s video was in partial response to another fan who posted online and claimed he was a “performative” Swiftie. “That should have been the highlight! Instead, it’s this girl being like – I don’t know is she the gatekeeper of the Swifties?”
