Taylor Swift Eras Tour Concerts Canceled After Alleged Planned Terror Plot Targeting Austria Shows

Alleged terror attacks targeting events including Taylor Swift’s upcoming Eras Tour concerts in Austria have been thwarted. According to NBC News, Vienna State Police director Franz Ruf and State Police head Gerhard Purstl announced in a press conference on Aug. 7 that a 19-year-old and another individual were arrested in connection with the suspected plot. Authorities reportedly said that both men had been radicalized online, with the 19-year-old allegedly pledging allegiance to ISIS. Per NBC News, the suspects allegedly had detailed attack plans in place and a bomb squad found chemical substances in the 19-year-old’s home and is determining whether they were intended for a potential explosive device. Access Hollywood has reached out to Taylor’s team for comment. Officials reportedly went on to clarify that the “concrete danger has been minimized” and the music superstar’s shows were initially set to go on as scheduled with heightened security, but all three dates were later canceled.
