Surfer Alex Botelho Narrowly Survives Wipeout: See The Shocking Footage

Big wave surfer Alex Botelho is in stable condition after being involved in a serious accident during a competition in Portugal. As shown in World Surf League footage, colliding waves crashed into the athlete while he was being towed back to shore on the back of a jet ski. Alex was knocked unconscious and washed into shore, where dozens of rescue staff rushed in to help. “I didn’t really realize how bad it was,” Alex’s friend Garett McNamara told All Access. When they rolled him over more water than you could have ever imagine coming out of a human being came out … I just thank god that we had a good water safety man out there.”
