‘SNL’ Audience Curses During Weekend Update Segment Shocking Ego Nwodim, Colin Jost, & Michael Che

Ego Nwodim’s “Weekend Update” bit took a hilarious and unexpected turn during the most recent episode of “Saturday Night Live.” On April 5, the actress joined Colin Jost and Michael Che to chat about the White House Correspondents’ Association cancelling a comedian’s appearance ahead of this year’s dinner before offering to host the event herself. She then began to channel her alter ego Ms. Eggy as she cracked some jokes to the crowd. At one point, she asked the audience, “’Cause these men ain’t what?” prompting them to yell in unison replying, “S—t.” The moment shocked the three “SNL” cast members as Che and Jost broke out into laughter behind the anchor desk with Nwodim responding to the crowd, “You finna get fined for that…Lorne [Michaels] will be mad at y’all.” The curse word is among those on FCC’s “seven dirty words” list. Deadline reports that the moment made it into NBC’s East Coast feed and Peacock’s broadcasts but was bleeped out for Pacific and Mountain time zone feeds. The cursing has also since been edited out of the sketch-comedy show’s social media pages. It’s unclear if “SNL” will face any fines.
