Rita Ora Tearfully Honors Liam Payne at MTV EMAs 2024: ‘He Had the Biggest Heart’

Rita Ora is honoring Liam Payne following his death. On Sunday, Nov. 10, while hosting MTV’s Europe Music Awards, the singer paid an emotional tribute to her late friend and fellow artist who passed away on October 16 after falling from a hotel room’s third-floor balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She began by addressing the crowd, telling them that she wanted to take a moment to remember someone who was “very, very dear to us,” as she noted that the beloved One Direction member was a was a big part of the MTV world, her world, and a lot of people’s at home and at the award show. “Liam Payne was one of the kindest people that I knew. And there were so many ways that we were talking about honoring him. And I think sometimes just simply speaking is enough. He had the biggest heart and was always the first person to offer help in any way that he could,” she said tearfully as she choked up, adding, “He brought so much joy to every room he walked into and he left such a mark on this world. So, let’s just take a moment to remember our friend Liam.”
