Rita Moreno Reveals Why She Almost Dropped Out Of ‘West Side Story’ Before Filming

Rita Moreno who stars as Valentina in “West Side Story” along with the film’s director Steve Spielberg spoke to Access Hollywood’s Sibley Scoles about working on the upcoming film and shared the story of how they cast Rachel Zegler for Maria. Rita also revealed that she almost dropped out of the movie due to the original lyrics of “America” calling Puerto Rico an “ugly island.” “West Side Story” is in theaters December 10.
