Prince William Shares ‘Profound Sorrow’ Over Britain’s Role In Slavery With Passionate Speech
Prince William expressed many feelings about Jamaica at an official dinner at King’s House on Wednesday night. In a passionate speech, the Duke of Cambridge acknowledged his country’s role in the trafficking of people to the Caribbean and the U.S. for the slave trade. The prince’s address comes amid anti-colonial protests he and wife Kate Middleton have faced on their Caribbean tour and Jamaica’s expressed interest in cutting ties with the Queen as its head of state.
