Prince William Calls 2024 ‘Dreadful’ After Kate Middleton & King Charles Were Diagnosed With Cancer

Prince William is opening up about his tough year after Kate Middleton and King Charles’ were diagnosed with cancer. In a rare interview, the 42-year-old royal told a journalist who followed him to Cape Town, South Africa how 2024 was “brutal” as he reflected on his wife and dad’s individual cancer journeys. “Honestly, it’s been dreadful,” he said, according to People Magazine and Sky News. “It’s probably been the hardest year in my life. So, trying to get through everything else and keep everything on track has been really difficult.” The remarkably personal interview took place on Nov. 7, on his final day in South Africa for his Earthshot Prize, and while Prince William’s wife and dad are doing better, he says it was still a hard time for the family. “But from a personal family point of view, it’s been, yeah, it’s been brutal,” he reportedly said. This marked the first time the Prince of Wales has spoken so openly about the personal impact his wife and dad’s illnesses have taken on him.
