Prince Harry Makes Rare Return To London Without Meghan Markle Day Before Queen’s Death Anniversary

Prince Harry is back in London, just one day before the anniversary of his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II’s death. On Sept. 7, the Duke of Sussex returned to the U.K. to attend this year’s WellChild Awards. Harry has been the patron for the organization for 15 years and kept his title even after he and his wife, Meghan Markle, chose to step away from their royal duties in 2020. At the event for the charity, which helps children and young people with serious illness thrive, the 38-year-old met with families. The celebration comes as his family prepares to mark the anniversary of the death of their matriarch the Queen, who died on Sept. 8, 2022. Harry appeared to travel to London solo but is expected to reunite with the Duchess of Sussex in Germany on Saturday as the Invictus Games kick off. A source told People there is no chance for the Duke to reunite with his brother, Prince William, and father, King Charles, during his visit.
