Officials are backtracking in their preliminary findings in their investigation into the death of New York Yankee’s star Brett Gardner’s son Miller. While Costa Rican officials initially said the 14 year old died of asphyxia, they are now reversing their findings. Juan Pablo Alvarado Garcia, an official with Costa Rica’s Judicial Investigation Agency says in a statement, “it was preliminarily ruled out that the cause of death was due to asphyxia, due to the fact that at the time of the inspection of the body, no anomaly was observed at macro level in the respiratory tract.” Miller’s family announced his passing in a statement shared on ex writing in part, “he passed away peacefully in his sleep on the morning of Friday, March 21st.”
