Missing South American soap opera star Jeff Machado has been found dead. The “Reis” actor was found stuffed in a trunk and buried in the backyard of a Campo Grande, Brazil, home, according to his lawyer, Jairo Magalhae Pereira, who confirmed Machado’s death in a statement on Facebook. “A cause of extreme seriousness has taken over the country’s newspapers and demands my act as a lawyer in this type of situation. In this difficult time, it is important to reinforce responsibility and dedication in my field of acting. It is with regret that I share the sad news of the passing of actor Jeff Machado, whose body was found with strangulation signs,” he wrote. Pereira continued by saying that he will do everything he can to bring justice to the Machado family. According to local media outlet R7, the house where Machado’s body was found was being rented by the actor’s friend. Machado’s family first reported him missing in January after his eight dogs were found alone, per the outlet.
