Michael Keaton Says Jenna Ortega Was ‘Born To Play’ ‘Beetlejuice’ Sequel Role: Fit ‘Like A Glove’

Michael Keaton is suiting up as Beetlejuice once more for the cult classic film’s highly anticipated sequel! The actor chatted with Access Hollywood guest correspondent Emily Orozco about what he finds “beautiful” about the new movie and how long he and director Tim Burton had thought about the possibility of continuing the story onscreen. He also looked back on his famous ad-lib from the first film and the iconic voice he created for his character, which he watched again to get right before shooting the sequel. Plus, Michael gushed over Jenna being such a natural addition to the cast as Astrid Deetz, the daughter of Winona Ryder’s Lydia Deetz. “Like, when people say, ‘Well, she was born to play it,’ I’m starting to think, ‘I wonder if she was literally born to play it.’ Because it’s so obvious,” he quipped. Michael added, “She’s a really nice young woman, but also really smart, and she just got it. She showed up and I went, ‘Oh yeah, she’s got this figured out. This fits her like a glove, man.'” “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” hits theaters on Sept. 6.
