The Duchess of Sussex won praise for an unexpected helpful gesture during her and Prince Harry’s Colombia trip on Aug. 18, when she interrupted the Afro Women and Power panel discussion to make sure everyone on stage was feeling comfortable. Meghan, 43, got up during the presentation to adjust a nearby fan so the breeze was directed at the speakers. The move was met not only with applause from the audience but also appreciation from her fellow panelists including Colombian Vice President Francia Márquez. Meghan took her seat and said “women helping women” in Spanish, prompting a thank you from someone else on stage who also noted that the moment offered an example of women “resolving the situation.”
