Matt Mauser Was ‘Nervous’ He Would ‘Fall Apart’ During ‘AGT’ Audition After Losing Wife In Kobe Bryant Crash
Deciding to audition for “America’s Got Talent” was a big decision for singer Matt Mauser, whose late wife Christina was among the victims of the helicopter crash that killed Kobe and Gianna Bryant. “When you’re really singing, and you’re singing from your heart, I was a little nervous that I might fall apart,” he told Access Hollywood’s Zuri Hall of his initial hesitation to take the stage. “So, I had to find the strength, and I thought maybe it would be inspirational – not only for me, but for my children – to see that in spite of having lost the most important person you’ve ever known, you got to get back up and you got to keep trying.” “America’s Got Talent” airs Tuesdays at 8/7c, and Matt’s audition is set to air in the July 6 episode.
