Malia Obama Makes Red Carpet Debut At Sundance 2024 For Short Film She Wrote & Directed
Malia Obama is ready for her close-up! The former First Daughter, 25, made her red carpet debut at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival in Utah on Jan. 18, looking winter chic in a slim gray overcoat and matching scarf with a classic button-down dress shirt, black pants and tall oxblood boots. Malia was there to screen her short film “The Heart,” which she wrote and directed. The budding filmmaker was all smiles while posing for photos at the event and she opened up about her project in an interview with the Sundance Institute, sharing that she hopes the story helps people feel “a little less lonely.” Malia’s rise in Hollywood got a major boost in recent years when she joined the writers’ room for Donald Glover’s Prime Video series “Swarm,” and the “Atlanta” creator told GQ in 2023 that his production company, Gilga, was developing her first short.
