Liam Payne’s One Direction Bandmates, Simon Cowell & More Pay Respects At Late Singer’s Funeral

Liam Payne’s loved ones have come together to pay their respects. The late British pop star was remembered at a funeral service in England on Nov. 20, where his One Direction bandmates Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik were among those there to honor his memory. Liam’s girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, and Cheryl, the mother of his 7-year-old son, Bear, were also present for the ceremony, as well as Liam’s “X Factor” mentor Simon Cowell and friend James Corden. The somber occasion comes more than a month after Liam suffered a fatal fall from his third-floor hotel balcony in Argentina. He was 31 years old. An initial toxicology report found alcohol, cocaine and prescription antidepressants in his system. One Direction issued joint and individual statements in the wake of the tragedy, with Simon also sharing his sorrow in a heartfelt Instagram post. Liam had most recently worked with “X Factor” judge Nicole Scherzinger, Backstreet Boy AJ McLean and Kelly Rowland on Netflix’s upcoming “Building the Band” series, whose future is now unclear.
