Katie Couric Calls Matt Lauer’s Alleged Behavior ‘Grossly Inappropriate’ & ‘Callous’

Katie Couric is still processing the downfall of her former Today” co-anchor Matt Lauer. Couric told People about her reaction to the sexual misconduct accusations Lauer faced in recent years, calling his alleged behavior “grossly inappropriate.” NBC fired Lauer in 2017 and he issued an apology at the time, claiming in part, “Some of what is being said about me is untrue or mischaracterized, but there is enough truth in these stories to make me feel embarrassed and ashamed.”
