Kate Middleton Possibly Dissed In Disney’s New ‘The Little Mermaid,’ Critic Says
Is Kate Middleton dissed in Disney’s new “The Little Mermaid”? Some fans and critics seem to think so. In the new live-action film, which hits theaters on May 26, Ariel, played by Halle Bailey, reportedly tries to get Prince Eric, played by Jonah Hauer-King, to guess her name after she loses her voice. A reviewer of the film told Page Six that there is a scene that mentions the names “Diana” and “Catherine.” “His first guess is Diana. His second guess is Catherine, but after [Ariel gives a disgusted] reaction, he [concludes] ‘OK, definitely not Catherine,'” the critic claims. Lady Diana became The Princess of Wales when she married King Charles in 1981, and Kate was granted the tile by her husband Prince William’s father when Queen Elizabeth died in September 2022. The speculated reference comes as tension between Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and the royal family seems to continue. The Duke Of Sussex attended his father, King Charles III’s, coronation alone earlier this month. Meghan reportedly stayed in California and celebrated son Prince Archie’s 4th birthday with their daughter, Princess Lilibet. Kate turned heads at the big event as she donned a handcrafted headpiece and matched her daughter Princess Charlotte.
