Kate Hudson Jokes She ‘Could Smell’ Matthew McConaughey ‘A Mile’ Away On ‘Fool’s Gold’ Set

The nose knows! Kate Hudson didn’t hold back about her and Matthew McConaughey’s hygiene habits when recalling their time together on the 2008 romantic comedy “Fool’s Gold.” The Oscar nominee, 45, joined host Andy Cohen and fellow guest Brad Goreski on “Watch What Happens Live” and set the record straight on an “old urban legend” that she forced Matthew, 54, to wear deodorant on set. Though Kate noted that she “could smell” Matthew from “a mile” away, they are actually on the same page when it comes to their personal scents. “He doesn’t wear deodorant — and by the way, I don’t either,” Kate said, adding with a smile, “We’re au naturels.” Though the rumor may have stemmed from years-old reports that Matthew once said Kate brought him odor-fighting salt rock to set that he refused, the pair clearly love working together and are even down to revisit one of their most beloved collabs. When asked about a potential “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” sequel, Kate said she and Matthew are both “always open” to the idea.
