Kate Hudson Gushes Over ‘Honor’ Of Being Raised By ‘Brilliant’ Goldie Hawn & Kurt Russell

Kate Hudson and Kaia Gerber are starring in the new dark comedy thriller “Shell”! At the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival, the actresses spoke to Access Hollywood about the “unexpected, theatrical” film, the “fun, crazy characters” they portray and the theme of aging in the film. They also revealed how they first got to know each other and their families outside of the world of acting, and Kate gushed over the person that Kaia has become. Plus, the two had the best reaction to vintage photos of their famous parents! Kate additionally reflected on growing up with Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell as role models and how their creative household shaped her. “It’s an honor for me to have grown up with such brilliant storytellers … The world for us was just storytelling. It was like, creating these characters, reading incredible material with some of the most innovative, creative minds, meeting and growing up with some of the most brilliant directors, … Really I feel like that has been such a privilege of mine, to grow up in that kind of creative environment at that level – what a dream. And then to be able to carry on and be in this amazing job we all get to do and to actually be received in it as well. I mean, when you think about my family, it’s not just my parents – it’s my brothers, it’s my sister-in-law. We’re all in it, and it’s just the best.”
