Jamie Foxx Reveals How His Teen Daughter Helped Him Recover After Brain Bleed Left Him ‘Touch & Go’

Jamie Foxx is opening up about his medical emergency in his new standup special. “Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was” dropped on Netflix on Dec. 10. In the special, Foxx reveals his health scare was caused by a brain bleed that resulted in a stroke. Detailing a period where it was “touch and go” for him, Foxx says a miracle happened through his youngest daughter, Anelise. The actor says his “vitals were out of control” during the first couple of weeks and doctors were struggling to stabilize him. He says the only thing that helped was his daughter’s guitar playing. “When she was playing my vitals went down,” Foxx told the audience before bringing out Anelise and performing with her.
