Inside Kate Middleton’s Personal Reunion with Holocaust Survivors She Previously Photographed

Kate Middleton and Prince William are commemorating International Holocaust Remembrance Day. On Jan. 27, the 80th anniversary of the Auschwitz-Birkneau liberation, the couple attended different ceremonies in London, including lighting candles alongside Prime Minister Keir Starmer and meeting with Holocaust survivors. At one engagement, the Princess of Wales reunited with survivors she photographed five years ago whose portraits ended up being included at an exhibit at the Imperial War Museum. “So wonderful to see Holocaust survivors Steven Frank and Yvonne Bernstein, who were photographed by The Princess with their grandchildren back in 2020. It is so important to come together, learn both from and about the past, and to take actions to make a better future for all,” the Prince and Princess of Wales detailed on their official social media channels. According to the Daily Mail, before the Princess hugged Mr. Frank she told him, “’I want to give you a big cuddle.” The two reportedly also spoke about his family and he thanked the royal for sending him a Christmas card. The Princess was also heard saying to Mrs. Bernstein, “It’s so nice to see you,” as she gave her a big hug, later adding, “I’ve been thinking of you a lot.” The two women were also seen holding hands at the table. The Prince and Princess of Wales’ outing marked their first joint appearance since Kate announced she was in remission.
