How an AI Generated Fake Brad Pitt Allegedly Scammed Woman Out of $850K
A French woman has claimed she was scammed out of $850,000 by an AI generated Brad Pitt after believing she was in a relationship with the actor, even divorcing her husband during the period. The 53-year-old, named Anne, reportedly explained in the Sunday episode of the “Seven to Eight” program on French TV channel TF1 that she was first contacted by someone who posed as the Hollywood star’s mother, Jane Etta Pitt, who said “her son needed someone like me.” Shortly after, she began communicating with the AI generated Brad Pitt online. “At first I said to myself that it was fake, that it’s ridiculous. But I’m not used to social media and I didn’t really understand what was happening to me,” she said. The interior designer explained that the two corresponded for over a year, reportedly beginning in February 2023, and the scammer convinced her to send large sums of money to cover a kidney treatment, claiming he was unable to access his own bank account due to his ongoing divorce at the time with Angelina Jolie. She also revealed that the con artist would send her AI generated photos with personalized messages, leading her to believe the hoax. It wasn’t until the summer when Anne realized she had been scammed after seeing news reports of the actor with his new girlfriend, Ines de Ramon. She ultimately filed a police report.
