Hoda Kotb Gets Candid About ‘TODAY’ Exit: ‘I Feel Afraid’ But It’s ‘Also 100 Percent Right’
Hoda Kotb recently made the emotional announcement that she’s leaving “TODAY” early next year to focus on raising her daughters Haley and Hope. While hosting “Making Space: A Wellness Weekend with Hoda Kotb” at Miraval Austin Resort & Spa in Texas, she sat down with Access Hollywood guest correspondent Emily Orozco to chat about making that big decision to step aside from her TV duties. “I feel afraid, because I’ve been so deeply and madly in love with NBC for many years. It’s kind of an ouch. It is also 100 percent right,” she shared. “I think it’ll always be part of my identity, but I so want this new chapter to be about something cool and brand new.” Hoda also revealed how her co-host Savannah Guthrie reacted to the news. “When I called Savannah on the phone to tell her that day, she said, ‘You’ve got balls,’” Hoda recalled. “And she goes, ‘I just want you to know that I’m in awe of what you are doing.’ She goes, ‘I will mourn for me later, but today, wow.’”
