Hayley Erbert Reflects On Getting Past ‘Fears’ Dancing Again With Derek Hough After Craniectomy

Hayley Erbert is gearing up to tour again following her craniectomy last year! Access Hollywood’s Zuri Hall exclusively joined the professional dancer and her husband Derek Hough at rehearsal for their new tour “Derek Hough: Dance for the Holidays.” The married pair shared what surprises and holiday magic fans can expect from the tour, which Derek called “the most intricate, full-out show” they’ve ever done. They also reflected on their emotional return to the “Dancing with the Stars” ballroom after Hayley’s cranial hematoma and skull surgeries last year and the forthcoming documentary that will shine a light on Hayley’s road to recovery. She shared of dancing again post-medical emergency, “I listen to my body a lot. I’m extremely in tune with my body as a dancer. So I was like, ‘OK, if anything feels even slightly off, I’m not even going to push myself, because I don’t want to put myself in harm’s way again. But I would say the most challenging [thing] was getting past mentally all of those fears, and the uncertainties – and if I’m honest, [Derek’s] fears and uncertainties.” She and Derek capped off their interview with a fun game of Couples Uncensored! “Derek Hough: Dance for the Holidays” kicks off Nov. 1; tickets are available now.
