Gary Sinise Mourns Death Of Son Mac, 33, After 5-Year Cancer Battle

Gary Sinise is mourning the death of his 33-year-old son Mac. The “Forrest Gump” star’s only son McCanna “Mac” Sinise died on Jan. 5 after a five-year battle with Chordoma, a bone cancer, according to a statement on his Gary Sinise Foundation website. Gary also shared that Mac was diagnosed with cancer in 2018, just two months after his wife Moira was diagnosed with breast cancer. The actor, 68, who is also dad to two daughters, Ella and Sophie, shared that as his wife got better, Mac got worse. Gary reflected on Mac’s favorite things to do, including working for his father’s foundation, which helps suffering veterans, first responders and their families and playing the drums! Before he passed, Mac produced his own album called “Mac Sinise: Resurrection and Revival,” which went to press the same week the musician lost his cancer battle.
