Elton John Speaks Out On Losing Eyesight, Reveals He Can’t See His Own New Musical

The show must go on. Elton John is getting candid about adjusting to life without his sight. The music icon, 77, spoke out onstage after a recent performance of his “The Devil Wears Prada” musical in London, for which he wrote the score, and told fans that he hasn’t been able to fully take in the production after an eye infection earlier this year. “As some of you may know I have had issues and now I have lost my sight. I haven’t been able to see the performance, but I have enjoyed it,” Elton said, adding amid supportive applause, “I love to hear it.” The singer’s issues began over the summer, and he previously shared in an Instagram statement in September that he was “feeling positive” about his progress after taking time to recover.
