Donald Trump Breaks His Silence After Second Apparent Assassination Attempt

Donald Trump is breaking his silence as the FBI continues to investigate an apparent assassination attempt. “There were gunshots in my vicinity, but before rumors start spiraling out of control, I wanted you to hear this first: I AM SAFE AND WELL,” said Trump in an email sent out to supporters. The incident happened on Sunday, Sept. 16, as the former president played at his Florida golf club. According to senior law enforcement officials, U.S Secret Service Agents spotted the muzzle of an semi-automatic rifle sticking through the shrubbery around the course. They say an agent fired and the suspect fled. A man was later taken into custody, the FBI identifying the alleged would-be assassin as 58-year-old Ryan Wesley Routh.
